Responsibilities:
-Work safely while adhering to the company safety policies
-Assure assigned apprentices/helpers work safely
-Follow specific directions using reasoning and logic
-Perform a variety of duties which may often change
-Perform basic mathematical operations rapidly and accurately
-Repeat tasks of short duration according to set procedures
-Use hand tools and electric tools
-Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects
-Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds
-Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time
-Visually see (naturally or with correction)
-Work at heights climbing and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds and man-lifts
-Plan new or modified installations consistent with specifications, plan drawings, diagrams, and local electrical codes
-Install electrical equipment
-Install electrical outlet boxes
-Measure, cut, bend and install various types of raceway systems
-Pull, test and terminate wire and cable
-Install wiring devices
-Install lighting fixtures
-Install, wire and terminate motorized equipment
-Perform basic trouble shooting, testing and repair of power and control systems
-Installs control and power distribution apparatus
-Install, checkout and test medium voltage equipment and cabling
-Perform tests on electrical installations
-Observes functioning of electrical systems and makes adjustments
-Operate excavation equipment (ie…trencher, mini-excavator, backhoe, etc.)
-Operate bucket truck and line (auger) truck
Requirements:
-High school diploma or GED equivalent
-Current driver’s license and dependable transportation
-Eight years or more electrical construction/service experience
-Has an Electrician’s Card
-Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code and performing electrical installations/rep
